The Kid Has Arrived

We’ve had our first cold snap of the winter over the past few days. Without any real motivating factors to get out of the house, the kid and I stayed in our pjs for the most part. The weather is supposed to warm back up to a more reasonable winter temperature tomorrow, and I’m stoked. Two days inside, and I’m going completely stir crazy.

Happily, my friends dropped off their son Thomas (Milo’s best bud, currently the only child he’ll willingly share toys with) for a few hours this morning while they went on a preschool tour. The two boys played with trains and trucks, danced to Music for Aardvarks, and generally kept each other amused for most of the morning. They also seemed to be having some sort of dual contest to see who could cram the most crackers in their mouth at once while simultaneously holding the most trains in their hands.

I made it to 5:30 today before I threw in the towel and let him watch the Sesame Street alphabet dvd. Keeping a 19 month old occupied and entertained inside for 48 hours straight is a job for a better parent than I am.

Oh and also, I’m at 19 weeks now! Pregnancy update coming tomorrow, maybe. I had an appointment with my midwife before xmas; everything sounded good, and now we’re looking forward to our ultrasound on the 11th so we can find out the sex!
